Leadership Development

Teams succeed when everyone shows up equipped to do their best work. Our coaching programs give leaders what they need to make innovation happen – and to create environments for it to thrive.

“A well-functioning, motivated, and aligned team is the atomic unit of innovation success.”

– Alex Osterwalder, inventor of the Business Model Canvas

“By the end of a session with Lightshed, a team feels energized with reawakened enthusiasm.”

– John B. (UX Design Manager)

“The rapid idea generation and then iterating and refining ideas was eye opening…Our sprint gave me frameworks to learn and master to spur innovation."

— Ani M. (Operational Excellence Director)

“The sprint encouraged me to work outside my comfort zone. I was able to get out of my own head and contribute, not just take notes and process everything in the background. I walked away with the confidence to just speak up and share ideas even if they may not have been fully baked."

— Jennifer C. (Technical Recruiter)

"At the end, everyone involved had a better understanding about the industry problems, but most importantly we laid a strong foundation for future collaboration among the participants to solve those issues together."

— Keith K. (Innovation Manager)

“Taylor’s enthusiasm for collaboration and teamwork is infectious. He was able to make keen observations and effectively communicate them to the team in ways that were both actionable and testable. Many of the activities that he facilitated are viewed as some of the most productive times at our company.”

— Kent A. (Engineering Director)

"It is so exciting to be given the freedom to design from the ground up. Working with new people, really listening to each other, and taking in all ideas and perspectives...it was the greatest part of my week."

— Amy B. (Customer Success Advisor)

“Taylor facilitated an innovation exercise with our broader organization in order to drive a shared vision and foster alignment around the need to rearchitect our technical platform. He facilitated twenty people through two weeks of exercises that resulted in a technical vision that guided the engineering team for the last two years.

Taylor has a unique blend of technical expertise, innovation practices and interpersonal skills that builds and aligns teams to imagine and execute against a bold vision.”

— Mike T. (Product Executive)

A note on our philosophy:

We know how valuable your time is. When we craft experiences – from multi-day design sprints to 50-minute coaching sessions – our top goal is to maximize what we call experience value density™.

At every moment, we aim to do what’s most valuable for your team with as little waste as possible. Work with us, and you’ll wonder how we possibly got so much done in so little time.

Even the best teams get stuck sometimes.

That’s where we come in.

Hi, I’m Taylor.

I founded Lightshed because I’ve worked with a lot of teams in a lot of contexts over the last 10+ years and I believe there’s a better way to collaborate than most of us are used to.

With a background that combines mechanical engineering, product design, design thinking, entrepreneurship, executive coaching, and whitewater raft guiding, I’ve learned a thing or two about what makes teams succeed (and fail).

I’d love to help you and your team work better together – and have a better time doing it.

So drop me a line at hello@lightshed.co. You can also learn more about my background on LinkedIn here.

Why Lightshed? I grew up in a redwood forest on the Northern California coast, and we had a shed where we kept all the tools we used for hard work. Now, my passion is helping teams do the hard work of transforming how they work together.
